2025-2026 Academic Year Application Dates

New Students

Thursday, February 13, 2025: Housing Application Available
  • Part 1 of the Housing Application will be open to all new students
 
Tuesday, April 1, 2025: Contract Available
  • Part 2 of the Housing Application will be open to all new students
    • Includes signing the Housing and Dining Contract, meal plan selection, and gear requests.
  • Students must sign their contract before participating in roommate matching
    • This includes a parent/guardian signature if student is under 18 at the time of signing their housing contract.
 
Sunday, June 1, 2025: Roommate Matching Available

Online roommate matching is optional. Housing staff will assign a roommate to students who choose not to select their own roommate.

  • In order to participate in roommate matching, students must complete all of the following:
    • Sign their Housing Contract
      • This includes a parent/guardian signature if student is under 18 at the time of signing their housing contract.
    • Pay their Advance Tuition Deposit (ATD), except for Degree Partnership Program participants, or students who are exempt from the ATD.
 
June 30, 2025: Roommate Matching Closes & Student ID Photo Deadline

In order to receive a room assignment, students must have an ID photo uploaded. Photos may be uploaded at any time once a student receives their ONID. To upload your photo:

 
July - September: New Student Room Assignments
  • Room assignment notifications will be sent on a rolling basis to the student's Oregon State email address
  • If, after receiving a room assignment, students would like to request a different room, they may add themselves to a waiting list for room changes.

Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at 12pm: Contract Available & Roommate Matching Begins
  • Part 2 of the Housing Application will be available to all current students
    • Includes signing the Housing and Dining Contract, meal plan selection, and gear requests.
  • Students must sign their contract to participate in roommate matching
    • Online roommate matching is optional. Housing staff will assign a roommate to students who choose not to select their own roommate.
    • REH staff may be required to move you to a comparable room (same room type, same general location in the building, etc.) during the placement process.
Monday, March 10, 2025 - Friday, March 14, 2025: Returner Single Room Assignments
  • Single rooms make up about 5% of our total residence hall spaces.
  • Students who select a single or apartment room type will be added to a waitlist for that room type.
  • Waitlist order is determined by completion date of Part 1 of the Housing Application.
  • Students who have been approved for a single room will be notified via their ONID email by March 10th.
  • During this week, students at the top of the waitlist will have an opportunity select their room.

 

Early April: Room Self-Selection Begins
  • Current students who have signed their contract will be able to participate in room self-selection
  • Rooms will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis
  • Students who enter the single room lottery will be notified around this time
    • Participating in roommate matching or room self-selection will not impact whether a student is offered a single room.
    • We strongly encourage all students to form roommate groups and self-select a room as a backup.
May 31, 2025 at 11:59pm: Deadline for cancelling without a cancellation fee
  • Returning students who apply for housing but then choose to move off campus have until this date to cancel their application without receiving a cancellation fee.
  • All students will receive a non-refundable $50 contract fee upon signing the housing and dining contract.
Monday, June 30, 2025 at 11:59pm: Roommate Matching & Room Self-Selection Close
  • Any students who did not participate in roommate matching or room self-selection will be assigned a placement by Residential Education and Housing staff.
