Walking

It's easy to walk to many destinations within Bend. Use Google Maps to find the best walking routes. Click on "Get Directions," enter your starting point and destination, and then click on the pedestrian icon.

When walking between the OSU-Cascades campus at 1500 Chandler Avenue to the Graduate & Research Center, we suggest the multi-use path along Colorado Avenue. It's wide enough for bicyclist and pedestrians and OSU-Cascades Facilities team will be plowing the path through the winter.

When walking between the OSU-Cascades campus at 1500 Chandler Avenue and the Columbia/Simpson parking lot, we suggest walking along Century Drive and Simpson Avenue. These streets have the most street lights and OSU-Cascades will be working with local business owners to keep the sidewalks clear in winter months.

Keep in mind a few safety tips when walking around campus, especially at night:

Be seen! Wear or carry a light at night. If you don't have a safety light for your backpack, stop by the Dining Hall Info desk to get a free set of lights.

Increase your visibility by wearing retro-reflective clothing or bright colors.

Whenever possible, cross the street at a designated crosswalk or public street intersection.

It's safest to walk on a sidewalk, but if one is not available, walk on the shoulder and face on-coming traffic.
