Up until now, OSU-Cascades did not offer free safer-sex, menstrual, or health products on campus. Lack of access to these products can result in disease transmission and health problems. In addition, the lack of products disproportionally affects low-income and at risk students. ASCC will offer free safer sex and health supplies to students, funded by student fees in each restroom on campus. We are also sharing resource hotlines and resources available to students on campus.
In response to the coronavirus outbreak, Safer Living Kits on-campus have been expanded to include more hygiene items. ASCC is now offering customizable kits, including free contraceptives, menstrual products, in addition to other goodies such as dental hygiene items, individual hand sanitizer, deodorant, band-aids, lip balm, combs, shampoo, and conditioner.
The Safer Living Initiative will be coming soon to all bathrooms on campus. For questions, please contact ascc.vp@osucascades.edu.
