Letters of Recommendation
- FERPA releases are MANDATORY for writing letters of recommendation for students. The mandatory FERPA form must be completed by the student.
Emailing Students
- It is also against FERPA policy to communicate with students via personal email addresses, as personal email is not sufficiently secure to protect students’ information.
FERPA Training
- All instructional faculty at OSU-Cascades are required to complete online training regarding the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA). Faculty must complete this training before they can be listed as the instructor of record in the class schedule. More information and access to the FERPA Training Module is here.
