Beginning this fall, Oregon State University - Cascades will offer a bachelor's degree program in exercise and sport science (EXSS).  The program is seen as a good fit for the Bend campus because of the synergy offered by Central Oregon Community College's two-year program in exercise science, and because of the regional interest in fitness and sports.  Students in the exercise science program at the community college who are interested in continuing their studies

A researcher, educator and clinician in the exercise and sport science field, Christine D. Pollard, Ph.D., PT recently joined Oregon State University -Cascades to develop and lead its new Exercise and Sport Science (EXSS) program.  The degree program was approved in July and the first course will be taught by Pollard and offered in fall 2011.

Less than a year since the energy engineering management (EEM) program launched at Oregon State University - Cascades, EEM students have qualified for and were placed in six-month paid internships that will provide rigorous real-world experience and position them well for careers in the industry after graduation.

OSU-Cascades Energy Engineering Management Program Accepted into MECOP as Pilot Program

Oregon State University - Cascades  Energy Engineering Management (EEM) program was recently accepted as a pilot program in the Multiple Engineering Cooperative Program (MECOP), a competitive engineering internship cooperative. 

10/28/10 - The effort to build Oregon State University - Cascades' first engineering degree passed its final hurdle on Thursday, October 28, 2010, when the State Board of Higher Education approved the campus' proposed energy engineering management degree. 

Oregon State University - Cascades has received a gift that will establish the first endowed faculty position at the Central Oregon campus and help launch its new Energy Engineering Management degree program that was approved by the State Board of Higher Education last month.

After six consecutive terms of double digit and record enrollment, Oregon State University - Cascades has posted a 16 percent increase in full time equivalent (FTE) enrollment*, the highest increase amongst Oregon State university campuses.  The FTE increase reflects an 11 percent growth in the number of students taking classes this fall.

James T. Lussier, founder and principal consultant with The Lussier Center/TLC, will deliver the keynote commencement address for Oregon State University - Cascades Campus.  Commencement, scheduled for 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 12, 2010, will be held in Drake Park in Bend, Oregon.
