Building Community at OSU-Cascades

The Campus Culture Committee exists to help create a welcoming, inclusive, and connected community for faculty and staff at OSU-Cascades. Through campus traditions, social opportunities, recognition programs, and collaborative events, the committee works to strengthen relationships and foster a positive campus experience.

The relaunch of the Campus Culture Committee is a shared initiative supported by both the Staff Executive Council (SEC) and Academic Faculty Council (AFC), reflecting a campus-wide commitment to community, engagement, and belonging.

Mission of the Campus Culture Committee

Fostering connection, inclusion, and celebration. We build a welcoming OSU-Cascades community by celebrating our people, strengthening relationships, and creating meaningful engagement opportunities for faculty and staff.

What We Do

The committee helps coordinate and support a variety of campus culture initiatives, including:

  • Faculty and staff birthday recognition programs
  • Coffee hours and informal networking opportunities
  • Affinity groups and shared-interest communities
  • Campus appreciation and recognition events
  • Random Acts of Kindness Week activities
  • Collaborative events with campus departments and committees
  • Social gatherings and community-building experiences

The committee also serves as a space for employees to share ideas that improve the overall campus culture and employee experience.
